Volunteers and Money needed to support the first-ever Great
Truckee Meadows Community Clean Up. Help keep Truckee Meadows
beautiful by volunteering time or donating money to support KTMB’s
first-ever Great
Community Cleanup on Saturday, April 22, 2006
from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon.
Volunteers are needed to help remove debris from common hot spot areas along fence lines and ditches. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, be provided Krispy Kreme coffee and donuts in the morning, and be treated to an “After Party” sponsored by Scolari’s and Silver Peak. This volunteer effort is being coordinated by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful in partnership with Washoe County Parks & Open Space, City of Sparks Parks & Recreation, Bureau of Land Management, City of Sparks, Washoe County Environmental Health Services, Washoe County, City of Reno, Scolari’s, Krispy Kreme, Silver Peak, Waste Management, Hobey's, United States Forest Service, 1-800-Got-Junk?, KTVN Channel 2, and KNPB Channel 5. The KTMB Board and Fundraising Committee are working to raise $5,000 in the month leading up to the Great Truckee Meadows Community Cleanup! Your support makes KTMB’s volunteer recruitment, cleanup coordination and educational programs possible! |

Free
Dump Week at Lockwood Landfill |

Sunday, April 23 – Saturday, April 29 Washoe County, City of Reno and City of Sparks residents will all be receiving free dump vouchers in the mail good for 3 cubic yards (or one 8 foot truck bed load) through the month of April. Didn’t receive your voucher? Or have more stuff? Please don’t dump it in our open spaces! Take it to Lockwood Landfill and dump it for free from Sunday, April 23 – Saturday, April 29. Lockwood is located about 20 minutes East of Sparks, take I-80 East towards Fallon and take the Lockwood Exit. Please
note that the Lockwood Landfill does not accept Hazardous Waste. To properly
dispose of your Hazardous Waste and for more information call Clean Harbors

in Recycling? |

| The following items can be recycled through Waste Management’s Recycle America program by putting them out at the end of your driveway in the yellow and green bins provided by Recycle America: Glass Bottles, Jars, Aluminum Cans, Steel Cans, Plastic Bottles, Newspapers, Magazines and Phone Books. For more information about what can by recycled and where it can be recycled print the Recycling Flyer and put it on your refrigerator.
