Adopt-A-Spot

Started in 1994, Adopt-A-Spot matches a variety of community organizations - businesses, church groups, service clubs, families - with stretches of roadway throughout Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.

Adopt-A-Park

Started in 1989 by the "Biggest Little City Committee" to encourage community involvement and pride in our parks, Adopt-A-Park was the seed that started Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, then known as Western Nevada Clean Communities.

Anti-Graffiti

Given Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful's (KTMB) mission of creating a cleaner, more beautiful region through education and active community involvement, the issue of Graffiti has been a longtime concern.

Beautification Efforts

Open Spaces started in 2001, the Open Space portion of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful's list of programs involves organizing and mobilizing groups of volunteers to help out with preserving and maintaining those areas within the Truckee Meadows which are publicly owned.

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful has a long history of successful involvement with neighborhood and community cleanups.

Litter Index

The Litter Index is a national initiative of Keep America Beautiful that provides a starting point for the litter prevention process. The Litter Index is conducted by volunteer teams who rank areas of town on a cleanliness scale of one to four. Keep America Beautiful guidelines signify that a "1" means "virtually no litter can be observed," while a designation of "4" indicates that "major illegal dumpsites are present, requiring equipment or extra manpower for removal." The lower the number the lower the amount of litter in the area.

Cigarette Litter Prevention

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful’s cigarette Litter Prevention Pilot Project is the first of its kind in the Truckee Meadows area. Out of over 500 Keep America Beautiful affiliates KTMB is one out of thirty selected to conduct this pilot project in our community. The Cigarette Litter Prevention project is a new awareness campaign that deals with cigarette litter prevention. Cigarette litter (cigarettes, packaging and lighting material) is one of the most common items found in cleanups around the country.
