Illegal Dumping

Nevada Revised Statute 444.630 prohibits the dumping of any solid waste, including junk vehicles, garbage, rubbish, construction/demolition debris, yard debris, or other refuse at any place other than at a facility designated for such purpose.

There is a reward of $100 for information leading to the conviction of any person violating NRS 444.630.

To report illegal dumping in progress call 775.334.COPS in Reno and Washoe County and 775.353.2231 in Sparks. To report an illegal dumpsite in Washoe County call 775.328.2434. Do not remove items from the dump site! Officers need the dump site intact for evidence purposes.

Recycling

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful 100% organic cotton bags are a great way to recycle and reduce waste every time you shop!  They have a square bottom so things won't fall over and they are free when you become a member at the Windy Hill level.

Confused about what can be recycled curbside or where to take your recyclables? The following items can be recycled curbside or at the drop off sites:

Plastic and glass bottles and jars can be recycled with the labels still on. Please remove lids.

Contact Waste Management to receive your curbside recycling bins at 775.329.8822 (Note: that there is not an option for recycling, go through the automated menu: option 1 customer service then option 2 (trash service for your home) or 3 (trash service for your company)). Washoe County

Washoe County
Call the Washoe County Sheriffs Office at 775.785.4020 to report graffiti around the unincorporated areas of Reno/Sparks. To report graffiti in progress call 775.785.4629.

City of Reno
To report locations of graffiti around the city call Reno Direct at 775.334.2099. You can also fill out an online form. Visit www.cityofreno.com click on "Residents", the go to "Hot Topics". There you will see a link for graffiti. For graffiti in progress call 775.334.2121.

City of Sparks
To report graffiti call 775.353.2271.
