Adult Education

ttKTMB’s Adult Education program is a series of informative talks presented to businesses, community groups, clubs and more. Our mission is to inspire more residents, businesses and stakeholders to help keep the Truckee Meadows beautiful! We currently have five (5) presentation topics:
KTMB Talks
Learn about KTMB’s impact in the community, as well as ways your group or organization can get involved!
Recycling in the Truckee Meadows (Available in English and Spanish)
Audience will learn about the impact our waste stream has on our environment and ways they can help reduce the contamination rate at our local recycling center.
Truckee River Watershed (Available in English and Spanish)
Audience will learn about the history of our Truckee River Watershed and what we can do to prevent non point source pollution from contaminating our precious water.
Zero Waste Lifestyle (Available in English and Spanish)
Audience will learn about an alternative approach to resource management that conserves, re-purposes and recycles what otherwise would be buried or burnt, into valuable assets that contribute to environmental, economic and social well being. The philosophy of zero waste is centered on the 5 R’s,“refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, rot.”
Invasive and Noxious Weeds (Available in English. Spanish version coming soon)
Audience will learn about what it means to have invasive and noxious weeds in our desert ecosystem and what we can do to fight it.

With enough notice, KTMB also takes requests on the topic of presentation!
