KTMB’s Annual Truckee River Clean-up Results
September 13th, 2025
Over 700 volunteers came out to help clean sites that feed into our local watershed by participating in KTMB’s Annual Truckee River Cleanup! Volunteers worked at 27 sites spread along the river from Verdi to Sparks, removing invasive weeds, cleaning up illegal dump sites, stenciling storm drains, and tackling many other park beautification and cleanup projects. Ensuring litter, green waste, and other potentially hazardous items are properly disposed of creates a safer, healthier, and more beautiful community. Our efforts mitigate fire risk and protect the quality of our water by removing trash and hazardous waste from our river and surrounding tributaries. Preliminary results from today’s cleanup, listed below, show what our volunteers accomplished today!
We then treated our fantastic volunteers to an appreciation picnic sponsored by Nextera Energy Resources with free food from Save Mart, free beer from Great Basin Brewing Company, drinks, games, and prizes! Thank you all for helping us Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful!
