KTMB's Great Community Cleanup
KTMB’s Great Community will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 throughout the Truckee Meadows.
Join KTMB all across the Truckee Meadows at over 20 beautification and cleanup sites throughout the Reno/Spark area. We will tackle illegal dumpsites, neighborhood parks, and other beautification projects in the area. Volunteer signups will be announced soon. Please sign up to be on the KTMB eNewletter or follow us on social media for the exact date and more details.

KTMB's Truckee River Cleanup
Save the date: KTMB’s Truckee River Cleanup will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024!
Join KTMB for a cleanup effort along the Truckee River with sites from Verdi to Wadsworth. Volunteer signups will be announced soon. Please sign up to be on the KTMB eNewletter or follow us on social media for the exact date and more details.

MidTown Spring Cleanup
Join MidTown District Reno, KTMB, and Fox Brewery and Pub for a Spring Cleanup in the MidTown District from 10am to 12pm. After the cleanup all participants will get a select draft beer from Fox Brewery and Pub.
To volunteer, just show up at Fox Brewery at 10am and sign up. KTMB will provide all the gear for the cleanup. We’ll see you there!

Sign up to volunteer at one of our three staffed Christmas Tree Recycling locations. Bartley Ranch, Reno Sports Complex, or Shadow Mountain Sports Complex.
25th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot
The 25th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot is happening Thursday, November 23rd, at 8:30 AM for a preemptive calorie burn before the big feast. Registration is happening now through November 18th! A portion of all entry fees will benefit KTMB! Sign up with friends or family for the 10k, 2-mile run, and 2-mile walk that starts and ends in the Scheels Parking Lot located at 1200 Scheels Drive in Sparks. Meet the Turkeys at Rancho San Rafael Park
Join KTMB and Washoe County Parks and Open Spaces to take pictures with the turkeys, meet farm animals, enjoy story time, explore the Discovery Room, and much more at the Nevada Farms and Families area next to the Wilbur D. May Museum. This event is FREE for the entire family. We welcome the community to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
Galena Creek Fall Festival Day 2

KTMB / MidTown Fall Clean Up
Join KTMB and MidTown District for a morning dedicated to beautifying MidTown District. Check-in starts at 9 AM at the brand-new Sol Up location. KTMB will arm everyone with all the clean-up supplies needed, then set you loose to make MidTown shine! No sign-up up required, just show up and be ready to slap some sparkle on the MidTown District.
Dorthy McAlinden Park Grand Opening
Join KTMB and Ward 4 Council-member Ebert in celebrating Dorothy McAlinden Park Reopening with a ribbon cutting ceremony, red carpet experience for kids, food trucks, games, pumpkin decorating and booths. The fun starts at 11am on Saturday, October 14th until 2pm.
Sun Valley Clean up
What: Sun Valley Revitalization Cleanup
Who: Residents of Sun Valley/Truckee Meadows/General Public. KTMB is working with SVGID and Nevada Real Estate Group.
When: Saturday, October 7th from 10:30am to 1pm
Where: Meeting at Sun Valley Community Center Pavilion - 115 W 6th Ave, Sun Valley, NV 89433. Cleanup will start at the park and work its way out into the community as time permits.
KTMB will provide all the tools/supplies (trash grabbers, bags, gloves, etc.) and dispose of all the trash/debris. Volunteers are required to wear appropriate clothing (shorts okay) and close-toed shoes. Bring a water bottle. KTMB will provide all the rest. No sign-ups. Just show up ready to clean up!
Damonte Park Maze Planting
KTMB is working with the City of Reno to help replant the Maze at Damonte Park with 600+ plants and we need volunteers to help get all those little guys in the ground. No sign-ups, just show up a 8am ready to plant plants! No sign-ups, just show up at 8am on Friday, October 6th at Damonte Park. KTMB will provide all the tools, and the City of Reno will provide the guidance.
Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency One Region Annual Event
Are you interested in what the future has in store for Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County? Of course you are! Be a part of the annual Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency One Region event coming September 30th, 2023, from 11am - 3pm at Rancho San Rafael in the Peavine Picnic Pavilion. Learn about regional planning for Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County and what TMRPA is doing to plan for our future.

KTMB is excited to partner with Northern Nevada Pride for their Festival Clean-Up Crew! Join us Saturday, July 22nd, to volunteer from 6pm - 9pm at Wingfield Park in Downtown Reno, NV.

Galena Creek Regional Park Clean-up
Join KTMB, Great Basin Institute, and Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Spaces for a day of community beautification as we clean up loose items around Galena Creek Regional Park on Saturday, June 3rd, from 10a-12p! Volunteers are asked to meet at the North entrance of the visitor center. For additional information or questions, email alexandriawilly@gmail.com.
Bicentennial Flower Planting
Join KTMB as we partner with the City of Reno for a flower planting project at Bicentennial Park. We will be planting annual flowers provided by the City of Reno from 8 a.m. to Noon. This event is family-friendly, though all children under 12 must have on site adult supervision. Don't forget to wear sunscreen, a hat, closed toe shoes, and bring water. We will provide tools and gloves, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. Meet at Bicentennial Park (10 Ralston Street, Reno, NV 89503). Park along Riverside Drive or Ralston Street.
Celebrate Washoe Valley
You are invited to come out for the FREE event and learn about local organizations in Washoe Valley. Food will be available for purchase. We will also have live music and fun activities for the whole family! Park entrance fees are waived for this event. For more information, please visit washoevalleyalliance.org and washoevalley.org. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Repair Cafe at The Generator
Dig through those closets and crawl spaces during this year's spring cleaning and bring your broken goods to the Generator! Whether it's a rip in your favorite pants, a wobbly leg on your vintage chair, or a broken clock that's right zero times a day, volunteer fixers with a variety of backgrounds will try their best to bring your crapped-out commodities back to life. We can't guarantee successful repairs, but we'll try our best! This event is free of charge, just bring your broken stuff and a positive attitude :) Parking is available on-site off of Oddie Boulevard. (Plus a disclaimer I think we might need because people): repairs are only available for household goods, small appliances, as well as bikes/scooters. Cars and other heavy machinery are not eligible for repair. Firearms and other weapons are also ineligible for repair and are not permitted. Smart About Water
Get any questions you have about water in the Truckee Meadows answered at this FREE community event. Experts from multiple water-focused agencies will be there along with community organizations who help keep clean water a priority in our region. Great Community Clean-up
Join us for KTMB’s Great Community Clean-up on Saturday, April 29th, from 8 am-12 noon. This year has many new site locations and partners pitching in to make this year’s event bigger and better! Plus, there is a volunteer appreciation picnic with food and drinks after the event. So grab some friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers, or come solo and help KTMB keep the Truckee Meadows beautiful.
Reno Earth Day
Head to Idlewild Park for this year’s annual Reno Earth Day. Learn about sustainability, recycling, energy, and much more from local non-profit and educational groups. While you’re at Reno Earth Day, you can expect another Great American Craft Fair, live local musicians, and locally sourced beer. Be sure to bring your flask and reusable shopping tote. In addition to the complimentary water fill stations. The Great American Craft Fair is putting on this year’s event and they need volunteers. TMCC Earth Day
The TMCC Sustainability Champions are sponsoring this event, which has been globally celebrated by billions of people since 1970. Come and learn about sustainable practices in our community, and TMCC’s renewable energy efforts, pollinator garden, research efforts, and much much more!
Be sure to check out the Angela Dandini Garden (pollinator gardens) Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on the same day from 12:30–1:30 p.m., in celebration of TMCC becoming the 1st Bee Campus USA in Nevada.
UNR Joe Crowley Student Union Earth Day Event
Come say “Hello” 👋 to team KTMB at the JCSU is holding an Earth Day Celebration on Wednesday, April 19th from 11am-2pm at the Gateway Plaza! The event will be filled with fun activities such as succulent painting and potting, decorating tote bags, raffle giveaways, plus information from environmentally focused clubs and organizations, like KTMB!
2023 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour
This year’s World Tour showcases the very best mountain filmmakers, allowing you to experience the stories that inspire us to continue exploring our environments.
Come join 1,200 of your closest friends in a sell-out crowd to celebrate the great outdoors and watch the spirit of outdoor adventure in all its glory comes to life on screen through spectacular stories. The Golden Pinecone Sustainability Awards is a legacy event run for more than 30 years. The awards recognize local businesses, organizations, educators, and individuals for their efforts to make our community environmentally healthy and safe and to promote sustainable living practices. This year's event will be at Great Basin Brewing Company Taps and Tanks in Reno, NV.
Trash Talk Part 2 - Reduce
Join us on Monday March 27th at 6:00pm as KTMB hosts the second class of our two part series; Trash Talk, where we deep dive into the waste stream, metaphorically of course. Light refreshments and seating will be provided.

Part 2- Reduce: Did you know that our community sends about 5,000 tons of trash to the landfill everyday during the summer? To put that into perspective, that's the weight of 700 elephants, every day! But when we throw something away, does it really go away?
Join Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful to learn how to reduce the amount of waste that goes into the landfill, prevent litter and illegal dumping, and make informed choices about what you buy and the waste purchases create. Bring an old t-shirt to make your own t-shirt tote bag after the presentation!

Mulch Madness
Remember all those Christmas Trees that KTMB recycled? Join us for Mulch Madness at Teglia's Paradise Park! Volunteers will be assisting with trash pickup and mulch spreading. Tools and snacks will be provided, but make sure not to forget a reusable water bottle, close-toed shoes, and to dress for the weather! This event is family-friendly and open to participants of all ages. However, minors 17 and younger must receive permission, and children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
