Jaime Garcia Alejandre is KTMB's Project Leader of the Month for March 2024!

Jaime Garcia Alejandre works as a Package Handler Trainer for FedEx and has been volunteering with KTMB for four years. Jaime serves as Project Leader for KTMB’s Great Community Cleanup, Truckee River Cleanup, and Christmas Tree Recycling.

KTMB: What drew you to volunteering with KTMB?
JGA: My high school teacher would invite us often and from there, I really enjoyed making a change and decided to become a Project Leader

KTMB: What is your favorite thing about Project Leading and volunteering with KTMB?
JGA: My favorite thing about Project Leading is making a difference - it makes everybody feel better! I also enjoy meeting new people and seeing them with a smile due to their good actions they have done with KTMB. 

KTMB: What is your favorite KTMB event?
JGA: The Great Community Cleanup! (The Great Community Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 8 a.m. to noon.)

KTMB: Describe a particular moment or memory from your time with KTMB that stands out to you.
JGA: During Christmas Tree Recycling, I was on the news! I was able to encourage everyone to come recycle their Christmas trees. Not only did I do an interview in English, but I was also able to do one in Spanish which made me feel proud of who I am.

KTMB: What does “Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful mean to you?
JGA: It means keep our community clean as a whole. Everyone does their part and we should keep our home environment clean

KTMB: Which park is your favorite?
JGA: Bartley Ranch Regional Park

KTMB: How do you like to enjoy time outdoors?
JGA: I enjoy hiking and going on runs
