Saturday Morning Cleanup at John Champion Park

  • John Champion Park 957 Kuenzli Street Reno, NV, 89502 United States (map)

KTMB, in collaboration with the City of Reno, is organizing another Saturday Morning Cleanup on May 18th from 9am to 1pm at the strategically chosen John Champion Park. This location is crucial as it is the starting point for our litter-picking and debris removal mission along the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail, moving toward Brodhead Park.

Where: Meeting at - 957 Kuenzli St. Reno, NV 89502.

Parking: There is extremely limited parking in the lot, but additional street parking is available along the side roads (Kuenzli, Manuel, and Giroux). Carpooling and walking/biking are highly encouraged.

Why:  Your participation is crucial as litter can disrupt our natural ecosystem. Once it washes into the Truckee River, it can significantly impact our aquatic species. By removing trash, you are directly contributing to the protection of the main source of our drinking water, approximately 85% of which comes from the Truckee River.

How: KTMB will provide all the tools/supplies/snacks (trash grabbers, bags, gloves, rakes, shovels, etc.) and dispose of all the trash/debris. Volunteers must wear appropriate clothing (shorts are okay) and close-toed shoes. If you have work gloves, bring them; otherwise, KTMB will supply them. Bring a water bottle. KTMB will provide all the rest. This project is recommended for participants aged ten and up, and all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
